Search engine optimisation, or SEO, can target different factors such as search terms or keywords, depending on your business and what you want to acheive.

Can anyone do SEO?
We are often asked about search engine optimization by clients and how they can help improve their website rankings themselves. Here are the basics, but also see the resources pages for more information including an excellent Business Link podcast about getting to the top of search engines:
- Put yourself in prospective visitors’ shoes and create a list of search words or phrases that people might use to find your products or services
- Ensure you have those key search words or phrases on the main and relevant pages of your website in the body text, title tags and image alt tags
- Bullet points can also be used to highlight appropriate content
- If necessary, create pages with interesting or useful information around these search words
- Links to your website should be relevant
- Every page should have different content. Do not repeat content from your website or another website
- Submit your Sitemap to Google
